Offshore Investors Continue To Pull Capital from Mainland Shares

CHINA

Cumulative month-to-date flows surrounding the northbound leg of the Hong Kong-China Stock Connect schemes show net outflows of CNY24.8bn, with the latest string of COVID cases and regulatory worry resulting in offshore investors pulling capital from mainland equities. Last week saw the largest round of cumulative weekly net outflows observed since March, while there has been only 4 days of net inflows lodged month-to-date. Yesterday saw net outflows of CNY9.9bn, which equated to the largest round of daily net outflows observed via the links since the middle of June (the latter represented the largest level of daily net outflows observed since March).
