OIL: China Apparent Oil Demand and Refinery Throughput Fall in April

China apparent oil demand fell by 3.01% year on year in April to 14.64mbpd, Customs General Administration data showed, cited by Bloomberg.
- Apparent oil demand in January-April however rose by 2.39% on the year to average 14.52mbpd.
- China's refinery output fell 3.3% y/y in April, the first annual decline in 20 months amid refinery maintenance and thin profit margins.
- Refinery throughput was 58.79m metric tons (14.3mbpd), according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, down from 15.09mbpd in March.
- January-April crude throughout rose 1.1% to 241.26m tons or 14.56mbpd amid increased gasoline and aviation fuel consumption.
- Crude oil output in China last month rose by 1.3% on the year to 17.47m tons.
- January-April crude production in China was up by 2.1% on the year at 70.95m tons.
- Natural gas production in China last month rose by 3.2% on the year to 19.8bcm.
