  • A total of 759mbbls of open January Brent options positions are currently due to expire today. Open interest is 476k call contracts and 283k for puts.
  • Brent option open interest has fallen back after rising to a record high last month. The aggregate open interest across ICE Brent call option contracts is down to 2.15m contracts while put open interest has fallen to 1.41m contracts.
  • Jan25 open interest is spread across strikes near the current market but with the largest nearby exposure of 28k of puts at the $70/bbl strike and 11k of puts and 15k of calls at $75/bbl.
