OIL PRODUCTS: India Oil Demand Fell 3.5% m/m in June but up 2.6% on the Year

India's fuel demand increased by 2.6% year-on-year but fell 3.5% from May to 19.99m metric tons in June, according to the oil ministry Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell data.

  • June gasoline sales rose by 4.6% y/y but fell 4.6% on the month to 3.30m tons.
  • High speed diesel sales increased by 1.0% y/y and down 5.1% m/m to 7.98m tons.
  • LPG sales rose by 3.2% y/y but fell 3.8% m/m to 2.30m tons.
  • Naphtha sales rose by 1.4%y/y and down 0.9% m/m to 1.07m tons.
