OIL: Suncor Firebag Oil-Sands Production Hits 2-Year Low

Suncor’s Firebag oil-sands site produced around 180.5k b/d in July, the lowest output since June 2022, Bloomberg said.

  • This compares to 233.5k b/d in June.
  • Output fell after Suncor curtailed production earlier this month due to a nearby wildfire.
  • Suncor’s total oil production from co-operated wells fell to 216k b/d in July, the lowest since September.
  • Meanwhile, Imperial Oil’s production from wells surges to 157k b/d, the highest since records began in Jan. 2018.
  • Cenovus, the largest oil producer from wells, increased its output to 506.5k b/d in July, up from 498.9k b/d.
