OPEC+ Feb Crude Output Stable MoM

The 22-country OPEC+ alliance pumped 41.21mbpd of oil in February, unchanged in the month, with several members such as Iraq and Kazakhstan still producing above their OPEC+ quota according to a Platts survey.

  • OPEC-9 produced 21.52mbpd of crude oil last month, slightly down from 21.57mbpd in January but above its Q1 2024 quota of 21.23mbp.
  • Iraq’s crude oil output was stable on the month at 4.27mbp – well above its OPEC+ baseline of 4mbpd for the first quarter of this year.
  • Kazakhstan continued to pump above its quota of 1.468mbpd and produced 1.56mbpd in February, unchanged on the month.
  • The producer group on 3 March announced to extend the current voluntary cuts until the end of the second quarter this year.
