Orlen Finalise 6.1Bcm/Yr Capacity with Gaz-System at Planned Gdansk FSRU

LNG

Orlen has signed a contract with Gaz-System for 6.1 Bcm/yr of capacity for 15 years at the planned Gdansk LNG terminal.

  • The capacity will see as many as 58 LNG deliveries per year into the floating storage regasification unit according to Orlen CEO Daniel Obajtek.
  • The start of the FSRU in Gdansk is planned for 1 Jan 2028.
  • LNG via Gdansk and Świnoujście “supplemented by supplies from Norway and our own domestic production, will allow us not only to fully satisfy the needs of Polish customers but also to offer gas to neighbouring markets,” Obajtek said.
  • Last month Poland’s state pipeline operator Gaz-System started a binding open season procedure for additional floating LNG after a preliminary market survey showed “significant” interest in increased capacity. Gaz-System may add 4.5bcm capacity to the Gdansk project due to the high demand.
