POWER: Orlen Secures a Further PLN900mn in Financing from EIB for Power Network

Orlen has secured PLN900mn (€211mn) in financing from the EIB to expand its electricity distribution network, boost renewable energy connections, power 1,000 new EV charging points, and enhance grid security, it said today.

  • The upgrades will connect new renewable sources totalling 1.4GW, with the installation of several hundred km of power lines and connections built by 2026.
  • The agreement follows a previous PLN900mn loan, part of the EIB's PLN 3.5bn reserved for ORLEN's investments, with a 15-year repayment period and favourable terms.
