  • The $1bm LNG tender was for 10 cargoes for deliveries through to September
  • The lack of bids looks set to extend Pakistan’s energy crisis after the country failed to complete four LNG tenders in the last month. Pakistan is struggling with blackouts due to fuel shortages.
  • The global demand for LNG, led by a surge from European countries is increasing competition and prices for LNG. Thailand and India have reduced LNG purchases due to the high prices.
