Paks II Nuclear Project Moves to Construction Phase

  • The amendment of the construction contract of the Paks nuclear power plant expansion has been signed, concluding the preparatory phase of the project so that the construction phase can now begin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said on Friday as per MTI.
  • At a joint press conference with the project manager, the minister called the Paks expansion a critical national interest, which has reached an important milestone. He noted that both the financial and the construction contract of the project needed to be amended due to changed circumstances.
