PBOC Injects Net CNY200 Billion at OMOs Friday

     BEIJING (MNI) - The People's Bank of China injected CNY120 billion in
seven-day reverse repos, CNY60 billion in 14-day reverse repos and CNY20 billion
in 28-day reverse repos via open-market operations Friday, Shanghai-based
financial data provider Wind Information said.
     This resulted in a net injection of CNY200 billion for the day -- the
biggest via reverse repos since Jan. 18. No reverse repos mature Friday. 
     The PBOC has injected a total of CNY260 billion via OMOs this week.
     The CFETS-ICAP money-market sentiment index ended at 52 Thursday - up from
44 at Wednesday's close. The lower the reading the better liquidity in the
interbank market.
     The PBOC is expected to make an official announcement on its website about
Friday's OMOs about 9:45a.m. Beijing time.
     The benchmark seven-day repo average was last at 2.6612% compared with
2.9109% Thursday.
