Pemex's Olmeca Refinery Targets 234kbd Runs 2024

Mexico’s Pemex expects its new Olmeca refinery will process 243,000 bpd of crude in 2024 during its first year of operations – ramping to near full capacity in 2025 according to a company presentation.

  • The refinery is set to have a processing capacity of 340,000 bpd at full capacity, which prior Energy Minister Rocio Nahle had said in September it would reach last year.
  • The refinery has faced numerous delays.
  • The company's overall crude processing to 1.5 million bpd in 2024, or up more than 40% compared to last year's processing volume according to executives.
