PERU: Government Signs MoU With US On Critical Minerals, CPI Data Due Sunday

  • The government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the US to strengthen cooperation on critical minerals, according to the US State Department. The memorandum sets the direction for further collaboration in critical mineral resource sector governance and investment, and advances US and Peru common interests in diversifying and securing global critical minerals supply chains.
  • On the data front, the next release of note will be August CPI inflation, which is due on September 1. The latest Bloomberg consensus shows that analysts expect the headline inflation rate to dip further to 1.99% y/y, from 2.13% in July. The data are due for release at 1600BST(1100ET) on Sunday.
