Spot USD/PHP changes hands -0.082 at PHP52.370 and initial downside focus falls on Mar 17 low of PHP52.110, followed by Mar 10 low of PHP52.045. Conversely, bulls set their sights on Mar 14 high of PHP52.487.

  • USD/PHP 1-month NDF last -0.040 at PHP52.550. Bears look for sales past Mar 9 low of PHP51.830, while bulls would be pleased by a jump above Mar 14 high of PHP52.940.
  • The Presidential Palace said that incumbent President Duterte is yet to endorse one of the candidates to succeed him, even as the ruling PDP-Laban party and some key Durterte allies have publicly backed Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
  • The Bangko Sentral is expected to keep interest rates unchanged come the end of their upcoming monetary policy meeting (see our preview for more colour).
