Petronet LNG Set to Renew Supply from Qatar beyond 2028

Petronet LNG are set to renew an existing long term contract for the purchase on LNG from Qatar beyond 2028 according to Bloomberg citing officials aware of the development.

  • The new deal for the supply of 7.5m tons a year of LNG beyond 2028 from Qatar will be under new terms on a DES basis, with Qatar bearing the LNG shipping costs.
  • The existing deal with Qatar has a slope of 12.67% over Brent with fixed charges of 52 cents and Petronet is responsible for the shipping.
