PKN Orlen Interested in PCK Schwedt Refinery

Polish refiner PKN Orlen is interested in taking a controlling stake in the PCK Schwedt refinery.

  • It was reported earlier today that Germany has placed the PCK Schwedt refinery under a trusteeship, effectively removing control from Russia's Rosneft
  • Poland have previously said supplying the refinery with seaborne crude via a terminal in Gdansk would require an end to Russian ownership of the refinery.
  • PCK are preparing for possible restrictions on the Druzhba pipeline following the move by Germany.
