Poland Gas Demand Could Fall 4% in 2023

Polish natural gas consumption may fall 4% yr/yr in 2023 to 14.8bcm in 2023 from 15.4bcm in 2022 and 18.4bcm in 2021 according to grid operator Gaz-System.

  • The grid operator expects demand to rise to 16bcm in 2024 in its most probable scenario.
  • The reduction is driven by a continuation of the energy crunch triggered by the war in Ukraine, a rising share of renewable energy sources and better energy and heating efficiency.
