POLAND: Gov't To Boost Spending On Flood Damage Repair In 2025 Budget
POLAND
- Finance Minister Andrzej Domanski said that Poland will be "proposing a significant increase in the amount available for the mitigation of the effects of the floods" in the 2025 budget, adding that "the priority is to distribute funds to those who need them as soon as possible." As a reminder, the cabinet will hold a special meeting this Saturday to discuss changes to the 2025 budget.
- The parliamentary Constitutional Accountability Committee (ODK) will meet on October 2 amid the ongoing probe into the conduct of NBP Governor Adam Glapinski, according to the information published on Sejm's website. The panel will hold five witness hearings behind closed doors.
- MPC's Iwona Duda told money.pl that the discussion on cutting interest rates will probably start no earlier than in March 2025. She admitted that the MPC has already held "very preliminary" conversations about future monetary easing, but a proper debate may only begin after the release of the NBP's macroeconomic projection in March.
