Poland's Sejm Streamlines Renewable Energy Laws

Poland's Sejm has approved key amendments to the renewable energy law, streamlining investment processes for RES projects and aligning with EU aid regulations, it said cited by ISB News.

- It also introduces the maximum relief permitted by the EU, capping electricity prices for qualifying energy-intensive companies at 85%.
- The amendment reduces approval times for permits involving solar energy installations on buildings, electricity storage facilities, heat pumps, and the construction or renovation of renewable energy infrastructure.
- And maintains net-billing system settlements based on monthly market electricity prices for prosumers who feed power into the grid by 30 June 2024.
