Poland to Launch Renewable Auctions in December

Polish regulator URE will launch its subsidy auction for new renewable power plants between 9-17 December, with around 44.6TWh on offer at a maximum value of PLN17bn (€3.97bn), it said.

  • The first auctions will be held on 9-10 December and are for installations using: biogas, biomass hybrid systems, thermal plants and others.
  • The next auction – on 11 December – will be open to installations using only agricultural biogas, with an installed electrical capacity of more than 1MW.
  • The auctions for hydro, bioliquids and geothermal power between 0-1MW and 1MW> are scheduled for 12-13 December.
  • And the remaining auction will be for PV and Wind plants between 0-1MW and 1MW>.
