POLAND: Tusk Confirms Key Infra Project Will Be Continued In Altered Form

  • Prime Minister Donald Tusk unveiled a revised plan to construct a hub airport in central Poland as well as a network of motorways and high-speed rail. The Premier confirmed that the airport's capacity will be smaller than initially envisaged and the shape of the railway network will be altered somewhat, but all major cities will be connected to the modernised transportation system. The airport could be functional by 2032, while the high-speed rail system will be completed by 2035.
  • The latest edition of NBP's quarterly macroeconomic survey showed that economists expect inflation to be above the upper end of the +1.5%-3.5% Y/Y tolerance band next year (median: +4.2%) and will remain above the point-target of +2.5% Y/Y in 2026 (median: +3.0%).
