MNI: Fear Of Elections Pushing 5-Stars To Back Gov't-Sources

Italy's populist Five-Stars Movement is leaning towards voting in favour of the government in a key confidence motion on Thursday, potentially defusing the risk that Prime Minister Mario Draghi could step down, Five-Stars sources told MNI.

“It seems we are going towards a more conciliatory position," one source told MNI as internal party consultations continued. Five-Stars lawmakers had started Wednesday favouring an exit from the government, but the fear of triggering early elections is prompting them to change their view, sources said.
