Political Risks Linger Amid Castillo Accusations

  • On Wednesday, it was announced that the hearing of the Peruvian Congress’s Permanent Committee to review a treason accusation against President Pedro Castillo has been postponed until noon local time on Friday Nov. 18, according to the congressional agenda.
  • Separately, Peru’s Subcommittee for Constitutional Accusations approved the start of an investigation on President Pedro Castillo for alleged cases of criminal conspiracy, influence peddling and collusion, according to a statement on Congress’s website late on Wednesday.
