Amentum has been selected by the Netherlands to conduct a comprehensive review of feasibility studies for two new nuclear reactors, with a capacity of 1-1.65GW each by 2035, it said, cited by WNN News.
- The Netherlands aims to complete the reactors by 2035 – accounting for 9-13% of the country's electricity production in 2035.
- The Borssele nuclear site is considered the most suitable location for the new plants.
- Additionally, Westinghouse, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, and EDF have been contracted to conduct feasibility studies for reactor deployment.
- The country is also exploring small modular reactors in addition to the large units.
