POWER: EdF Hopes to Conclude Nuclear Financing Talks Year End

EdF is hopeful that talks regarding the financing of new nuclear capacity will conclude by the end of this year, CEO Luc Remont said, cited by Reuters.
- "I am hopeful that we can conclude (talks) with the state by the end of the year and that, at the beginning of next year, we will be able to discuss with the European Commission," Remont said.
- Luc Remont also said today the reviving of the idea of an additional tax on France’s large power plants would hit EdF’s investment plans, CEO Luc Remont said, cited by Reuters.
- French power producers are fearing that the new government may revive a proposal to levy taxes on large power plants.
