POWER: EEX Power Volumes Surges to New Record in September

Monthly volumes on EEX Group’s global power markets surged to a new record high of 1,148.4TWh in September, up by 52% on the year, it said. 

  • Volumes increased by 50% year on year to 933.7TWh in August.
  • European power derivatives volumes increased by 73% on the year to 814TWh last month. 
  • EEX power spot market volumes grew by 16% in September to 72.2TWh, with new records on the Belgian and Dutch day-ahead markets.
