POWER: European PPA Prices on Track Fall on Month in Sept

The average price of European PPAs are on track to fall on the month in September, while spot costs rose just slightly on 13 September from the previous session amid mixed movements in the energy complex, according to the latest data from Pexapark. PPA prices could be weighed down today amid lower prices in German power, EU ETS and gas.

  • EU PPA prices averaged around €50.285/MWh over 1-13 September from €51.97/MWh across August and €50.39/MWh in July.
  • On the day, prices edged up to €49.75/MWh on 13 Sept from €49.47/MWh on 12 Sept.
  • PPA prices in Germany, UK, Portugal, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands increased, while prices in the Nordics, Poland and France fell from the previous session.
  • Solar, onshore and offshore PPA prices rose between 0.49-2%.
  • Germany Base Power OCT 24 down 3.1% at 74.86 EUR/MWh
  • EUA DEC 24 down 1.6% at 63.92 EUR/MT

  • TTF Gas OCT 24 down 2.9% at 34.6 EUR/MWh
