POWER: France November Power Edges Higher
POWER
France November power base load is edging higher, tracking gains in the wider energy complex, while France October power is pulling back today. France’s RTE has yet to announce its planned export curtailments for October on its eastern borders.
- France Base Power NOV 24 up 0.3% at 82.30 EUR/MWh
- EUA DEC 24 up 0.7% at 66.78 EUR/MT

- Nuclear availability in France has increased to 69% of capacity as of Monday morning, compared with 66% on Friday, RTE data showed, cited by Bloomberg.
- The unplanned outage at 915MW Cruas 1 is scheduled to end Monday 16:00 CET after which output will be reduced to 781MW until 2 October.
- Planned maintenance at 1.5GW Chooz 2 has been extended by one day until 1 October 23:00 CET. Planned maintenance at 910MW Gravelines 1 has been extended by six days until 9 October.
- The latest 6-10 day ECMWF weather forecast suggested mean temperatures in Paris have been revised higher to be below the seasonal average until 6 October, before rising above normal until 9 October, after which temperatures are set to decline again. France has a daily average of 4 heating degree days for the 1-5 day forecast, 1 above the 10-year normal according to WSI.
- Power demand in France is forecast to rise to a maximum of 52.22GW on Monday and of 52.8GW on Tuesday, Entso-E data showed.
- In France, wind output is forecast to decline sharply on the day to 5.99GW during base load on Tuesday. Solar PV output is also forecast to decline 3.59GW during peak load according to SpotRenewables.
- Residual load in France is forecast to rise by 8.1GWh/h day on day on Tuesday according to Reuters.
- EdF announced last week that production might be curtailed for 24h starting 30 September 21:00 CET due to industrial action.
