Poland’s Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (PEJ) has applied to the Polish government to start preparatory work for the country’s first 1-1.6GW nuclear power plant, it said, cited by ISB News.

  • PEJ plans to secure the future construction site and conduct geodetic work.
  • The firm must obtain building and construction permits before works begin, with the unit expected to be operational in 2030s.
  • Poland is eyeing a total nuclear capacity of around 6-9GW in the upcoming decades.
