POWER: Polish Coal Production Edges Up on Year in July

POWER

Polish hard coal production edged up just 1.3% YoY in July, compared to a 13.4% YoY decline in June, while lignite production increased by 9.8% year-on-year, according to the Polish statistical office GUS, cited by ISB news.

  • Hard coal production amounted to 3.65 mn/t in July– up by around 8.8% compared to volumes in June.
  • Over January-July, hard coal production decreased by 6% on the year and amounted to 25.33 mn/t.
  • Lignite production increased on the year to 3.38 mn/t in July but was down by around 2.4% on the month.
  • Over the first 7 months of this year, lignite production totalled 23.21 mn/t – a 1.5% rise year-on-year.
  • Rotterdam Coal SEP 24 down 0.7% at 117.9 USD/MT
