Polish energy regulator URE did not receive a single offer for its CHP September premium auction for individual cogeneration units, with the auction now unsuccessful for the seventh time, it said.

  • Over PLN 17.3bn (€4bn) was up for grabs for large, new and modernised CHP units, or around 72TWh of a generation that could be covered.
  • “The support was initially intended to serve mainly cogeneration units fired with natural gas. However, many factors currently do not favour investments using this fuel,” Rafal Gawin, President of the Energy Regulatory Office said.
