POWER: Russia Confims Damage to Ukraine Energy Infrastructure

Russia has confirmed drone and missile attacks on important Ukrainian energy infrastructure, the Russian Defence Ministry said, cited by Reuters.

  • Russia has destroyed around 9GW of Ukraine’s power generation capacity since the start of March.
  • The country is preparing for the upcoming autumn and winter, while also hoping to increase its import capacity to around 2.7GW.
  • Ukrainian energy company DTEK plans to restore up to 70% of its electricity generation lost by Russian attacks by October, it said, cited by Energy Central in July.
