POWER: Serbia’s Second Renewable Auction Sets Lower Maximum Price

Serbia is planning its second round of renewable auctions with decline 5 February for 300MW of wind capacity and 124.8MW of solar PV capacity, with lower maximum prices compared with the first auction according to Balkan Green Energy News. 

  • The maximum offered price for electricity from wind projects is €79/MWh, compared with €105/MWh in the first round.
  • For solar PV projects, the maximum price is set at €72/MWh, down from €90/MWh in the previous round.
  • Winning projects will receive the right to sign a 15-year CfD contract at the accepted price.
  • The projects will also be qualified according to the percentage of capacity offered to EPS or to end costumers, or both.
  • Participants will need to submit preliminary or PPAs that they signed for at least three years.
