POWER: Switzerland Eyes New PV Obligation

The Swiss government council plans to make it mandatory for “large” roofs to be equipped with solar panels in Zurich, it said, cited by PV Magazine.

  • The obligation will apply for roofs larger than 300m2 and will be for existing and new buildings.
  • In France, Developer GreenYellow will install “solar shades” at 350 parking sites in France, allowing for 450 GWh/yr of PV to enter the French grid, with half the project completed by the end of 2026.
