Preem’s Lysekil Unit to Undergo Revamp Works March-July

The Synsat unit at Preem’s Lysekil oil refinery will halt from mid-March until the end of July as the firm is planning to complete a conversion to cut the crude reliance, the firm said, cited by Bloomberg.

  • The unit is being converted into a so-called co-processing plant, allowing it to run partly on feedstocks including used cooking oil and rapeseed oil. The revamp is near mechanical completion.
  • The unit has a capacity of 41.5kbpd, Preem said previously.
