Prelude LNG Loading's Resume

Shell has restarted loading operations at its 3.6mn t/year Prelude LNG facility after a more than 6-week hiatus due to industrial action.

  • The strike lasted from June 10 to August 25.
  • July’s LNG exports dropped to a three-month low of 6.52mn t from 7.03mn t a year earlier.
  • The slowdown has added to overall global market tightness for LNG which has been in high demand as Europe and Japan in particular try to move away from Russian supplies.
