President To Invite Parties For Consultations Next Week, Polish Data Eyed Today

  • President Andrzej Duda met with Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki yesterday, triggering speculation that the two leaders may have discussed government formation process. Government spokesman Piotr Muller told PAP news wire that it was a "routine" meeting of head of state and head of government. However, Onet reports "unofficially" that Duda informed Morawiecki that he will give the ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party the initial chance to form government.
  • Presidential aide Marcin Mastalerek told Radio Zet that the head of state will invite a representatives of each party for consultations next week. The official suggested that parties should receive invitations as soon as today.
  • NBP's Joanna Tyrowicz accused Governor Adam Glapinski of arbitrarily excluding some opinions from the minutes of MPC meetings.
