Private Sector Lending Conditions Saw Further Deviation In Q3

  • The BoC’s Senior Loan Officer Survey (SLOS) for Q3 showed further deviation between lending conditions for businesses and households.
  • Conditions for businesses tightened by the most since the pandemic whereas household conditions across both mortgage and non-mortgage conditions saw some modest easing.
  • The modest easing in household lending conditions was entirely driven by price factors again, whilst non-price factors also tightened again but by the least since 4Q22 for mortgages and 1Q23 for non-mortgages.
