Poland’s TSO PSE has approved the financial investment decision for the 700MW Harmony Link onshore interconnection between Poland and Lithuanian, the Lithuanian energy ministry said today.

  • The unit is expected to be commissioned by the end of 2030.
  • Territorial planning and environmental impact assessments are progressing alongside design activities to expedite project implementation.
  • The decision comes after Litgrid adopted a corresponding decision in September.
  • The project is expected to allow power trading after synchronising the Baltic States with continental European networks.
  • The project was initially expected to be built on the seabed but due to high construction costs the decision was changed to be an onshore link.
