China and Russia confirmed their interest in a Power of Siberia 2 pipeline according to Putin on Friday as part of his visit to China this week.

  • He said he expects Gazprom and China to eventually reach a deal on the pipeline.
  • Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak was reported earlier Friday to have said that Russia and China expect to a sign a contract on the pipeline “in the near future".
