Putin Could Visit UAE And Saudi Arabia This Week

Reuters reporting that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates this week, according to, "Russian news outlet Shot... citing Putin's aide Yury Ushakov."

  • Leaders Magazine , a Saudi publication, reported todaythat Putin will visit Saudi Arabia on Wednesday noting the visit, "serves as a pivotal moment for these two major global players to explore new avenues of cooperation and understanding."
  • Leaders reports, "the agenda is likely to encompass areas such as political cooperation, economic development, and international security."
  • Leader reports that energy cooperation will be a "central focus" of the trip: "During his visit, Putin would discuss the energy cooperation with Saudi Arabia.
  • "As leading global oil producers, Russia and Saudi Arabia have a vested interest in stabilizing and developing the global energy market. Discussions will likely revolve around oil production policies, joint energy projects, and sustainable energy initiatives.   • Should Putin travel to the Gulf this week it would demonstrate the value of the two OPEC members, both of whom are invitees to BRICS, are to Russia's foreign policy.
