Qatar LNG Exports Rise Despite Red Sea Disruption

Qatar's LNG exports increased in January to 7.58m tonnes despite a temporary halt to Red Sea transit during the month according to Kpler.

  • Exports rose from 7.11m tonnes in December with increased shipments to Asia and a strategic shift in shipping routes.
  • Qatar showcases resilience amidst challenges with LNG shipped to Asia up 5% in January compared to the month prior.
  • Several sources confirmed that the producer is now offering spot LNG cargoes delivered FOB to better entice Asian buyers, said Laura Page at Kpler.
