Ramophosa Plots Reshuffle

  • Business Day reports that Ramaphosa is to reshuffle his cabinet ministers in October of this year, which should coincide with the deadline for him to present the government’s plan to implement recommendations from the so-called state capture report.
  • On graft reports, the President is reportedly still awaiting the final report from the Zondo Commission after it asked the high court if February to extend the report’s deadline to April. A spokesman stated that the President “has been assured that the report will be released soon”.
  • Strike action is to impact Impala Platinum operations in the North West province of the country, with the Union already claiming that management are refusing to bargain and are refusing access for NUMSA to the worksites. A company spokesperson has stated that the strike is unlikely to have a wider impact at the site, with contractors to cover the supporting services.
