EURO-DOLLAR: Rate ebbs lower as various German press reports that German
chancellor Merkel will not run again in the CDU leadership - not entirely
unexpected but the move weighs on the single currency somewhat. Support may kick
in at the Friday low of $1.1336 before the 1.618% swing level for the
$1.1432-1.1621 move at $1.1315. The $1.1350 level holds a large option expiry
(E1.49bln) due to roll-off at today's 10am NY cut (now 1400GMT following clock
change in UK).
