AUSSIE BONDS

Aussie bond futures held the steepening impetus witnessed in overnight hours, with YM -1.5 and XM -6.0, as the latter looked below the base of its overnight range. This was aided by hedging pressure surrounding the syndication of the new ACGB Nov '31, which saw over A$66.0bn of demand and A$21.0bn printed (both are records).

  • There was little else to generate much of a response locally, although local Q2 completed construction work was nowhere near as soft as expected.
