Record WTI to Europe Set to Slip: Argus Sources

US WTI shipments to Europe hit a record 1.8mn b/d in July and are on track to exceed this in August at over 1.9mn bpd according to Vortexa.

  • Record WTI imports are expected to ease next month as arrivals tighten according to Argus sources.
  • WTI shipments are instead being pulled to the Asia-Pacific market the sources said.
  • Another factor behind the drop in WTI imports is the impact of market structure in sellers' decisions on which crudes to supply to meet North Sea forward crude commitments.
