Recovery From Lows

EQUITIES

A fairly subdued overnight session, with equities recovering from losses in early European trade, now little changed on the day.

  • Asian stock markets closed mixed, with Japan's NIKKEI down 45.67 pts or -0.2% at 23051.08 and the TOPIX up 1.03 pts or +0.06% at 1610.85. China's SHANGHAI closed up 12.288 pts or +0.36% at 3451.089 and the HANG SENG ended 20.04 pts higher or +0.08% at 25367.38.
  • European equities are up a little, with the German Dax up 7.52 pts or +0.06% at 12926.76, FTSE 100 up 5.42 pts or +0.09% at 6124.54, CAC 40 up 9.61 pts or +0.19% at 4976.22 and Euro Stoxx 50 up 3.57 pts or +0.11% at 3308.84.
  • U.S. futures are basically flat, with the Dow Jones mini up 3 pts or +0.01% at 27787, S&P 500 mini up 0.25 pts or +0.01% at 3381.25, NASDAQ mini up 4 pts or +0.04% at 11294.25.
