REFINING: Russia Crude Processing at Lowest Since Late June Amid Refinery Works

REFINING

Russia’s crude processing is on track to reach the lowest weekly level since late June with an average of 5.28mb/d during Sept. 12-18, sources told Bloomberg.

  • A decline of 90kb/d w/w is driven by refineries entering seasonal maintenance including a drop in rates by a combined 134kb/d at Gazprom’s Neftekhim Salavat, Novatek’s Ust-Luga and the Tyumen refinery.
  • Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat started seasonal maintenance last week with a halt to one primary-processing unit and a number of secondary units.
  • Processing rates averaged 190kb/d below the August average at 5.33m b/d in Sept. 1-18.
  • Russia’s offline primary oil refining capacity in October could fall by 37% from September to 2.42m ton, according to Reuters calculations earlier this month.
