REFINING: Russian Refining Offline Capacity at 4mn tons in Otcober

REFINING

Russian refiners plan to take 4 million metric tons of capacity offline in October for maintenance – 67% higher than a previous plan according to Reuters sources.

  • The revision follows Tuapse pausing operations on weak margins and postponed maintenance at the Novokuibyshev refinery and at the CDU-6 unit at Lukoil's NORSI oil plant.
  • In September idle capacity was 4.5 million tons.
  • Russia's November idle primary oil refining capacity is seen at 1.2 million tons but could rise to 1.8 million tons depending on rescheduling.
