REFINING: Yulong Refinery Fully Operational by Year End After Official Start

Official production started at phase one of Shandong Yulong Petrochemical’s refinery on Sept. 25 and is set to be fully operational by year-end, according to Bloomberg citing local Yantai television.

  • Phase one of the project includes capacity for 20m tons/yr of oil refining, 3m tons/yr of aromatics and 3m tons/yr of ethylene.
  • Yulong started up one of its two 200kbpd crude units on Sept. 20, according to Reuters sources.
  • The 400kbpd petchem facility is understood to have bought 5.1mbbls of crude in recent months ahead of the start of test runs.
  • In April, Yulong received 8.3 million metric tons of crude oil import quota for 2024.
